Supporting your transition to regenerative and agroecological systems of production

Soil first farming

Working directly with farmers, growers and land managers to provide the tools and support required for a successful transition towards soil centric, regenerative and agroecological systems of production.

By utilising techniques that support soil health, improve water cycles, and enhance the surrounding ecosystem we help you to create profitable, resilient and future proof farming and growing operations.

Context is everything

Working with a wide variety of farming and growing systems we understand that each enterprise is unique, so we take the time to understand your context, your goals and your ambitions.

Rather than prescribing set management methods, we work with you to identify and address the limitations to production by implementing regenerative management interventions that fit your context and will continue to work for you into the future.

We offer the following services:

  • One-to-one mentoring: Both in-person & online, we act as a sounding board and walk with you on your journey

  • Soil sampling and interpretations: In-field assessments, soil/tissue analysis, microbiology analysis and feedback

  • Training, webinars & workshops: Grazing management, soil health fundamentals, staff/stakeholder workshops, whole farm design (water and fencing infrastructure)

  • Soil care reports: Comprehensive soil health reports including assessments, interpretations and recommended interventions

  • Funding the transition: SFI, CSS & BNG applications and surveys

  • Ongoing monitoring and outcome verification: Utilising the Soilmentor Regen Indicators

About

As an independent organisation, the strength of our offering lies in our deep understanding and first hand experience of regenerative systems of production.

Founder & lead advisor, Tim Williams, holds a Degree in Management from New Zealand’s foremost agricultural institute, Lincoln University, complimented with a Postgraduate Certificate in Organic Farming from the SRUC in Scotland.

His education within regenerative agriculture has developed over the years initially drawing knowledge from Allan Savorys’ Holistic Management Framework before going on to learn from renowned regenerative agriculture thought leaders such as Dr Christine Jones, Darren Doherty, Ian Mitchell-Innes and Nicole Masters.

With over a decade of first hand regenerative agricultural experience and a lifetime of farming under his belt, Tim supports a multitude of operations from entire estates through to horticultural operations, flower growers and vineyard operations.

Tim has worked with regenerative farming organisations such as the Pasture Fed Livestock Association and helped to develop the growing standards for leading regenerative wheat growers Wildfarmed.

As an agency for change, our mission is to work with farmers, growers, land managers and associated businesses to create profitable, resilient and ecologically sound enterprises that place soil health front and centre.

What is Regenerative Agriculture?

We define Regenerative Agriculture as both a philosophy and a set of management interventions, developed to reverse the decline of agricultural systems through a deep understanding of soil function and natural ecological systems.
